Storm

It seems nobody wants to miss out when it comes to the next installment in the X-Men series, X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Almost all cast members from the previous X-Men films will be returning to the sequel-to-a-prequel, which promises to bridge the gap between the original trilogy and the First Class series.

While Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin and other members of the original X-Men cast were relatively quick to sign on, one star of the franchise seemed to be on the fence: Halle Berry. Every time he has been asked about her involvement, director Bryan Singer has played coy and said she ‘might’ join the production. Coupled with off camera rumors that a deal with Berry was “far from certain”, many took this to believe she would not be returning to portray the weather controlling mutant, Storm.

However, Shadow and Act recently spoke to the actress and got a pretty clear confirmation that she will in fact be returning to the franchise. While she couldn’t come right out and say as much, here’s how Shadow and Act describe the conversation:

“Well, she did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role. Most likely. Practically 90% sure. And she nodded a lot too.

I can’t say, and neither could she say that it’s definitely a done deal, and that the contracts have all been signed, with all the “i”s dotted and the “t”s crossed.

She told me that are a few details that are still being negotiated which she couldn’t get into. But since she did tell me that the film starts shooting in April, it’s highly unlikely that talks are going to suddenly and horribly fall apart at this point, and the producers have to scramble to find a replacement at the very last minute.”

So, while something definitely could happen to prevent her from closing on a deal, it seems almost inevitable that Halle Berry will be joining the ever-growing cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
